Yuletide: Oyo Peace Corps Preaches Peace, Urges Residents To Be Law-Abiding

As Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ , Oyo State Command of Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) has rejoiced with them,urging residents of the state to be law-abiding and celebrate with moderation during the period.

This was contained in a statement signed by the State Commandant, Patriot (Dr.) Oludare Adesina, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the state capital, over the weekend by the command’s Media Team.

Dr. Adesina who called for peaceful celebration,stressed that it was apt for Christians to reflect on the love of God as exhibited in the lifestyle of the Saviour.

He charged the faithful to imbibe the spirit of love and unity, saying as the name of the organization connotes,peace is paramount to having a worthwhile celebration.

His words:”I felicitate with all Christians on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas, in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. For this celebration to be meaningful, I charge all,especially Christian faithful to commit themselves to the ideals of peace,piety,love, service and honesty which Jesus stands for”.

The commandant urged the residents to be law-abiding during the festival, adding that the Corps would collaborate with other sister security agencies to ensure that the celebration is hitch-free.

While wishing all a Merry Christmas, Dr. Adesina urged them to celebrate in modesty.
