Suicide Blast In Gombe Phone Market Kills 6

There seem to be no let in the violence in Gombe when a Boko Haram suicide bomber on Friday blew himself up at a market leaving at least six people dead and another 10 injured.

Witnesses said the blast went off at 7:25 pm in the packed market neighbourhood of Kasuwar Arawa, close to the public university in Gombe, where people go to charge their phones.

According to Spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, Umaru Shittu, “Our workers have evacuated six bodies and 10 injured, and we believe there could more bodies because the market is usually populated,”

The Post learnt that the injured were being treated by aid volunteers and nurses, because doctors in the city were on strike.
