The Ahmed Makarfi-led National Care Taker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday evening challenged Dr. Ahmed Gulak, a former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Affairs and now a supporter of the Ali Modu-Sheriff faction, to name the eight governors purportedly supporting it.
A statement by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the committee’s National Publicity Secretary assured “that all PDP governors are fully in support of the National Care Taker Committee, which they and other stakeholders created.”
Adeyeye also wondered how the governors could be supporting the “renegade band” which had “never missed any opportunity to blame (them) for the problems of the party.”
He recalled how “only last week their (Modu-Sheriff faction’s) self-appointed Deputy National Chairman, Cairo (Ojougbo) was still castigating the governors for the party’s woes at a press conference,” wondering why anybody would attack those supporting him/her.
“If Gulak wants to be taken seriously, he should name the governors who are supporting his group.
“Give names and say the type of support you receive from the governors,” the statement added, stressing that failure to name the supporters could mean that he is suffering from political hallucination, or that he meant state chief executives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The whole world, the statement continued, knows that members of the Modu-Sheriff group “are paid agents of the APC being used to destabilize our great party.”
