Mutiu Adepoju, a former Super Eagles player, told that now the players were in the process of rounding off their season at their various clubs, it would be good to kick-start rigorous preparations for the Mundial.
The World Cup is scheduled to run from June 12 to July 13 in Brazil.
He said that it was possible to perform well in the 2014 World Cup and exceed the expectations of the fans if preparations could start early.
“With the caliber of players we have in the squad, I believe we can do very well. It is achievable, if we put in necessary work from now until next month.
“All the players and everyone should do is to listen to the coach and follow his orders because I know Stephen Keshi knows what to do,’’ Adepoju said.
The ex-international also said that anything was achievable as long as good and proper training was adopted.
“Now that the players are rounding off from their different clubs, I hope preparations will kick off in earnest,’’ Adepoju said.
Adepoju, then asked for the support of Nigerians to see the team through the competition and hoped for the best.
Nigeria is placed in Group F along with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Argentina and Iran and the Eagles will take on Iran in their first match on June 19.
