The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Independent Electoral Commission , Kogi State, Professor James Apam has expressed concerns over high figure of uncollected Permanent Cards, stating that a total total of 293 241 have not been collected .
Professor Apam who disclosed this while speaking during the stakeholders meeting at INEC headquarters in Lokoja ahead of August 11th Lokoja/Koto Karfi Federal Constituency bye election.
He explained that Commission has so registered a total of 261624,stressing that the figure represents 121,996 and 129,643 males and females respectively
The Resident Electoral Commissioner pointed out that commission had also received 10,217 transfer and replacement of Permanent voters card , while INEC said it has printed a toa total of 112, 323 permanent voters cards out of which 18,000 were distributed .
He however lamented that large number of Permanent voters cards still remain uncollected , urging all the stakeholders to help sensualize the eligible voters who had registered to come collect their PVCs .
He noted that a total of 199,880 card from 2014 are yet to be collected and 93 461cards from current registration exercise still with INEC.
On August 11th bye election for Lokoja /Koto Karfi federal constituency House of Representatives seat, the REC assured the stakeholders that INEC allow a level playing ground for all the Political Partiefigure.
