Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo has attributed the Two Zero Victory by the Nigerian National team, Super Eagles over the Shilangu of Swaziland to the inspiring moral and cash gestures by the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to the players.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Paul Damgbor said Governor Wike fled in from Abuja yesterday to lead thousands of Rivers Fans in cheering the team to a resounding victory at the Adokiye Amesiemake stadium, Port Harcourt.
Dr. Banigo noted that since the assumption of office of Governor Wike, Nigeria has won all her matches played in Rivers State and described Port Harcourt as the Victory Centre for Nigerian International Matches.
The Deputy Governor commended the State Chief Executive for his unparalleled support and encouragement towards sport development in the State in particular and the country as a whole and described him as a Youth and Sport Friendly Governor.
