Earlier this week, Gbenga Adeyinka and his friends took the Laffmattazz train to Akure to celebrate Democracy Day, and bring happiness to the people of Akure. The show which sold out The Dome Events Center gave fans nine complete hours of entertainment from top music acts and some of Nigeria’s funniest people.

For six years, the ace comedian with Maltina’s support has spread laughter across cities in Western Nigeria, and the June 12 show was no different.

Here are five highpoints from the fun filled show:

  • Non-Stop Comedy

All through the event, there were zero dull moments as each comedy performance seemed to match or surpass the one before it. MC Lively, who created the Barrister Mike persona on Instagram was the first comedy act of the day and set the tone for what fans were to expect from the rest of the comedians that followed. There were solid jokes and brilliant stage gimmicks from the likes of Helen Paul, Kenny Blaq, Akpororo Lasisi Elenu and more.

  • The Maltina Poetry & StandUp Contest

Just like the last time LaffMattazz came to Akure, Maltina gave fans a chance to partake in a quick game where they composed a small piece for someone they love, presenting to the crowd who voted and picked a winner. There was also an opportunity for some members of the audience to try out stand-up comedy. The lucky participants went home with cases of Maltina, while the grand winners received a kitchen set and packs of the premium malt drink.

  • Terry G, Eedris, And Jams From The Past

When Terry G got on stage, everyone was so excited to see him. Given the number of hit songs he has had over the years, he decided to take things a little backward, starting off with Akpako Master, much to the delight of the crowd who sang word for word. This seemed the theme for the night as Eedris Abdul Kareem had done the same with “Jaga Jaga”, even inviting a fan to share the stage with him.

  • Gbenga Adeyinka’s Grand Entry

Performers in Nigeria are getting more innovative with their stage entrances and show headliner – Gbenga Adeyinka didn’t fail to give fans something to talk about. He made a royal entrance much to the admiration of the audience, who were chanting all through his performance.

  • More Happiness With Maltina

Everyone at the show got a taste of the Maltina goodness and enjoyed some of the other engagement opportunities the brand provided all through the event. The Maltina dart game spot, laughter box, and photo booth were beehives as fans played for free drinks, exciting prizes and fun memories.

With top VIPs in attendance and a fully sold out venue, Gbenga Adeyinka’s Laffmattazz was a complete success.

The train moves to Ilorin in October for another exciting edition.
