Former Nigerian Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir El-Rufai has lost his son to a car crash, the second child to die in three years.
Hamza El-Rufai died on Tuesday morning.
El-Rufai himself broke the unfortunate news on his faceboook page at about 8am.
The post read thus: “From Allah we came and to Him we shall return. Please join our family in praying for the repose of the soul of my son, Hamza El-Rufai who died this morning in a motor accident in Abuja.”
The late Hamza will be buried today in line with Islamic injunctions.
It would be recalled that El-Rufai lost his eldest daughter, Yasmine, in November 2011.
President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed shock over the sudden and untimely death of Hamza el-Rufai, son of the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai.
The deceased had died in an auto crash in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This message was posted on the Twitter account of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
The President commiserated with Mallam el-Rufai and all members of the el-Rufai family.
Stressing that no amount of words can fill the deep gap created by the loss of Hamza, the President hoped that the outpouring of support at this moment by friends and associates will comfort Mallam El-Rufai.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and also for God’s blessing, comfort and protection for Mallam el-Rufai and the rest of his family.
