Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (PHCCIMA) will on Monday and Tuesday begin the fourth quarter council meeting of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
The two days event which will be hosted at the Banquet Hall of Hotel Presidential is expected to have in attendance, Rivers State governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as the special guest of honour while the National President of NACCIMA, Chief Bassey Edem and others will be in attendance.
Addressing the Press yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, the President of PHCCIMA, Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji said the council meeting is expected to create a forum for the organized private sector to brainstorm on pressing national economic issues.
Otaji noted that the meetings will impacts on the economy of the country and strive to proffer solutions on the way forward, adding that NACCIMA members will use that opportunity to visit old Port Harcourt Port
He said: “critically we are going to examine and bring to fore, issues on how to re-invent Port Harcourt as a shipping hub. We are also going to take our visitors around to see some of old companies like Pabod Breweries. Awards will be presented to companies and individuals.”
