John Aloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the United Kingdom(UK), has cautioned Nigerians to desist from comparing the political system in the country with what obtains abroad. He said that making such comparison is not charitable at the moment.
“Some of these political systems we erroneously compare with ours here in Nigeria is uncalled for.
“You should recall that we just started democratic governance barely twenty years ago. The thing is we should just take our steps one after the other in such a meaningful way.
“I have assurance that we will get it right in the near future. There is no need to muddle things up at this point in time just because we are in a rush to move forward,” he advised.
On his rating of the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari in office, he has this to say: “We should tarry a while. This government led by President Muhammadu Buhari came to sanitize the country and from all indications it is trying it best.
“To succeed a lot of planning and patience must come into play. We can all attest to the fact that all these are taking place right now.
“Making blind criticism of the government and its policies barely two years of its coming into office is uncalled for.”
He asserted that the participation of Nigerians in the diaspora in the political system of the country is long over due.
“Government should put in motion the process of the participation of Nigerians in the diasporaq in the electoral system in the country.
“This will no doubt give them a pride of place in the Nigeria project. Presently, those of us in the Nigeria Project,” he asserted.
