Chadian troops finally took over control of the town of Dikwa after fierce fighting with terrorist group, Boko Haram.
According to Spokesman of Chad military, Col. Azem Bermandoua, one soldier was killed and 34 were wounded.
Also, 70 Boko Haram members were killed as Nigerian troops on Monday repelled an attack on Konduga.
There were no report of casualty on the part of the military.
According to a military source, Boko Haram had invaded the town between herds of cattle and a suicide bomber driving an explosives-laden car, but were unable to break down the strong resistance put up by the military.
Konduga has been attacked many times in recent months.
The Islamic extremists’ attacks have spread across borders into Cameroon, Chad and Niger, which are forming a multinational force to fight the militants.
