Cult War: Two Beheaded In Rivers Community Over Supremacy Battle

Two youths were killed and beheaded when armed men stormed  Kono community in Khana Local Government Area  of Ogoni,  Rivers State.

The killing took place Sunday night, when the armed youths invaded the community, shooting sporadically.

The post gathered that the gunmen suspected to be cultists, were said to be on trail of their rivals in the community over supremacy battle.

A source, who craved anonymity, told the reporter that before killing the victims,  the assailants severed their heads from the rest of their bodies and took the heads away.

Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local government,  Baridam Suani, has confirmed the incident,  warning that his administration would not tolerate further killing in the council.

The post also gathered that Police in Bori had visited the scene of incident and promised to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile,  the State Police Public Relations Officer  (PPRO),  Omoni Nnamdi,  a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), has confirmed the killing, saying that it was cult clash between rival groups.

He said the hoodlums invaded the community at about 11pm to carry out such heinous act, adding that normalcy has returned in area and people going about their normal businesses.

The PPRO further said that investigation had been ordered to unravel the persons that perpetrated the dastardly act.
