Clergy’s Aide Defies 3- Year- Old Girl In Pastor’s House

Tricycle snatchers also paraded

From Paul Obiajunwo, Port Harcourt

28-year –old man, who identified himself as Bethel Samuel has confessed before Rivers State police Command how he defied three years old girl in his pastor’s house.

Bethel who claimed to be a Personal Assistant to a new generation church (name withheld) was paraded alongside with his friend and three other tricycle snatchers popularly called Keke.

Confessing before the Rivers State Police Public Relations officers, DSP Nnamdi Omoni and the Divisional Police officer of  Rumuolumini Police Station, SUPPOL  Kinsley Chukwueggu where  all the suspects  were paraded, Bethel said what happened was a handiwork of devil.

He told journalists that it was out of stupidity that led him to sexually harass a three years old girl, adding that if he would be given a second chance he must surely be a good person.

He called on the police and the parent of the girl to have mercy and considered that what happened was purely an act of devil that misled him to rape the girl.

Betel said: “ I am the personal Assistant to my pastor, we were organizing our crusade, going out to pate crusade  posters when my pastor called me to say he forgot something at home. So he directed me  to  go to his house and bring some money.  It was there that I saw children playing around so I grasped one of them. That was what happened.

“It is purely handwork of devil, I don’t know what happened, all I know is that I am not happy on what is happening to me. I am calling on the parent and the police to have mercy on me, I am promising the government and the parents that if they allow me to go free, I will never  misbehave  again.”

Mr. Osunde Waxin, a friend to Betel said he did not join his friend when he was rapping the little girl but was in the compound to search for his girl friend.

The three other Keke snatchers, who were also paraded, pleaded with the police to lose the hook on their nick, stressing that they were into the business to earn a living.

Addressing the press yesterday at Rumuolumini, DSP Omoni said the suspects were in the police wanted list.

He said the State commissioner of Police has placed zero tolerance to rape and other criminality in the state.
