Catholic Priest Emerges Kaduna CAN Chairman
The Catholic Bishop of Zaria, Most Rev. George Dodo has emerged the new Chairman of the Kaduna state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Speaking at the inauguration of the new executive Most Rev.  Dodo said that the association will work closely with other bodies and government to move the state forward.
Rev. Dodo who is the Catholic Bishop of Zaria also said that the new executive of CAN in the state will run a participatory and consultative administration and ask Christians in the state to support them in prayers, adding that the quality and product of their service will be based on the cooperation gotten from the members.
He said that his administration will be opened to constructive criticism, pointing out that they should be called to order whenever they are going on the wrong track, saying “we must all be prepared to work together as good servants and stewards of God.
“We will welcome any constructive criticism that is meant to positively move the association forward”.
He said further that his administration will give prime attention to the work of healing and reconciliation, adding that regular brainstorming will be held to strategise on ways forward and develop a road map for the future life and activity of a new CAN in Kaduna State.
The outgoing Chairman, Reverend Samuel Kujiyat expressed appreciation to the Christian community in the state for the support accorded him during his three years tenure as head of the body.
While soliciting similar support for his successor to enable him build a stronger CAN, he assured the new executives that he will be available for any form of assistance that may be required of him.
Other executive members include Archbishop Josiah Idowu Feron and Reverend Sunday Ibrahim who emerged as vice Chairman and Secretary respectively.
