President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
According to a three paragraphs statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President was advised to complete the test cycle before returning.
President Buhari who traveled to London penultimate week on a ten-day leave was expected back in the country on Sunday before the request for extension.
The statement said the notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives.
There have been growing concerns among Nigerians over the state of health of the President since he left the shore of the country on January 16 as there have been speculation that he might have passed away.
