The Ministry of Aviation has said that it hopes to raise its internal revenue profile, which presently stands at N70 billion to N120 billion.
According to the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, who made this known in Abuja, the ministry hopes to contribute three percent of its revenue to the National Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by the of next year.
She equally said the ministry has enhanced its internal revenue generation through automation of revenue collection processes.
Oduah further noted that her ministry had initiated and implemented programmes that could help turn around for self-sustaining all of the agencies under the aviation ministry.
She equally said the ministry was working in conjunction with aviation industry’s players “to bring our revenue generation activities to meet international best practices using the International Air Transport Association (IATA) platform.”
She further revealed that plans have been concluded to embark on an investment road show to attract domestic and foreign direct investment for the sector.
