The Speaker of Kogi State House oyf Assembly, Right Honourable Mathew Kolaeole has said that despite the lingering crisis rocking the foundation of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State,the Party still remains formidable and Party to beat ahead of 2019 General elections.
Kolawole disclosed this while speaking during the interactive session with members of Correspondents Chapel,Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi State Council in Lokoja.
He explained that efforts are being made to reconcile aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State.
The Speaker pointed out that
the leadership of Party are working towards ensuring a total victory for the Party in the State ahead of 2019 general elections.
Despite the internal wranglings rocking the Party,APC still remain a party to beat. The Party leaders are not relenting in their bid to unite all loyal members to deliver dividends of democracy at grass roots level.
Kolawole also explained why the State Budget was increased from N147 billion to N151, noting that House has the constitutional responsibility to appropriate the budget either to increase or. reduce as the case may be.
He stressed that during the Budget defence, it was discovered that little amount of money was budgeted for Kogi State University and management appealed to the House that more money should be appropriated for the purpose of courses accreditation and other miscellaneous in the institution.
He stated that N500 million was added and others for School of Medical Sciences,noting that the importance of education cannot be over emphasized.
He admonished people not to believe too much in social media because it contains a lot of lies, hate speeches,libels capable of causing disunity among the society.
He therefore appealed to all and sundries to avoid politicizing trival issues in the interest of peace and harmonious coexistence.
