Anambra 2017: Harris Chuma Throws His Hat in the Ring

Long before news filtered in during the week that the Anambra State Gubernatorial election has been scheduled for November 18, 2017, Top actor, filmmaker and cultural icon, Comrade Harris Chuma had indicated interest to vie for the seat of incumbent governor- Willy Obiano.

Contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chuma who has various titles but is popularly known as Ogene Ndigbo or Eze Omenani is also the President, Igbo Film Forum and Commandant-General, Comrade of Citizen Anti-Corruption Volunteer Corps (CACVC).

He has started his campaign on social media platforms and is now set to launch ‘Ogeneigbo Political Movement’ (OPM), his platform for mobilizing for good governance and productivity which he intends to use to prove the efficacy of his slogan; ‘Yes, It’s Possible!’

Though many have been wondering how Chuma who is not a known money bag would withstand the financial muscles of the likes of Capital Oil boss- Ifeanyi Uba; and Tony Nwoye, among many other strongmen, even if he is given the party’s ticket. However, in politics, there is no telling what could happen. Just like the rested Charley Boy Show slogan; ‘Anything can happen.’
